What is white label reporting?
White label reporting means the report carries your agency's name and logo, and your helper's stay off. It's the same idea as white label SEO, where one company does SEO work that goes out under another company's brand.
Two companies that sell the service put it in their own words. Blue Things says: "It involves one company offering SEO services under another company's brand." Whitelabelseo.io says: "You can provide high-quality SEO services under your own brand"
Blue Things also sets white label apart from reselling. With white label, the work is rebranded under your name. A reseller sells another firm's service with no rebranding. That's how one seller uses the two words.
What goes into a white label SEO report?
A client SEO report can hold rankings, visits from search, leads or sales from search, the work done that month, and what comes next. No official source says what one must hold, so treat that as a list to pick from.
Reporting Ninja, a report tool, counts a report this way: "A report is a collection of widgets that can be scheduled, and downloaded / emailed as PDF as many times as needed. It can contain info from multiple data sources and from multiple client accounts at the same time."
What are the steps to build one?
There are six steps to build a white label SEO report, and they're the same whoever does the work.
- Pick what the report holds. Choose from the list above, and keep the same parts each month, so a client can set one month beside the last.
- Connect the data. One tool maker names three kinds of source: "You may use Google Search Console for technical SEO, Google Analytics 4 to optimize website traffic, and a different tool for backlink analysis." What data tools cost varies.
- Put your brand on it. Your agency's name and logo go on it, and your helper's stay off. Check the cover, the file name and the address it's sent from.
- Add notes in plain words. Say what changed and what comes next. Write them for a client who doesn't know SEO terms.
- Check the numbers. Read each figure against its source before the report goes out. A wrong number under your name is yours to explain.
- Send it on a set day. Pick a day each month and keep it, so the client knows when to look for it.
How to create white-label SEO reports and automate them
To automate a white label SEO report, build it once in report software and let the tool send it on a schedule.
Reporting Ninja is the one tool we name. Its maker says: "Reporting Ninja streamlines the process with customizable white-label SEO reports." On templates, it says: "Our SEO report templates come equipped with pre-built data visualizations, saving you from the ground-up construction of charts and tables." On sending, it says: "Automated dispatch ensures timely reports and fosters trust through consistent communication."
Those are the maker's own words. We haven't tested the tool.
Its Starter plan is $25 a month billed monthly, as of October 2026, and holds 10 reports. The maker says every plan includes all its integrations and features. Other tools' prices differ. See what report software costs to run.
How long does one report take?
One report takes 2 hours by hand and half an hour with report software, by our estimate. Reading and sending a report that someone else built takes a quarter hour, by our estimate.
We found no sourced figure for this, so these are our own estimates. See what those hours cost.
Who can build the report for you?
Four kinds of builder can do it: your own staff, report software, a white label SEO firm, or one flat-rate team like ours.
Blue Things lists five parts of a white label SEO service: technical SEO, on-page SEO, off-page SEO (link building), local SEO, and reporting and analytics. It works as a checklist when you ask a helper what's covered.
Here's our own team against that list. We cover on-page SEO. We don't do link building or outreach. Jeremy Kenerson, DeskTeam360's founder, says the team builds and sends monthly SEO reports for agency clients. You keep the strategy, and you bring the words.
How do you pick a helper?
You pick a helper by checking five things: skill, reviews, results, service and fees. Then ask who touches your client's data, and get the contract in writing.
See California's rule on telling a business about helpers, in the law's own words.
Why is white-label SEO reporting important?
White-label SEO reporting is important because a client judges the month's SEO work by the report, and the report carries your name.
The 3 AI answers we sampled gave much the same reasons: your brand, time saved, clients who stay, and clear results. We took them on October 8, 2026, from a browser in Arizona, and it's a sample of 3 answers. They show what the answers say. They don't prove the reasons hold.
Doing the reports in house has its own case. It keeps control, and it keeps client data in house. Its risks are missed dates and thin margins.
